My 2012 Faves

31 Dec

This year was quite a year to remember. Here are my 2012 favorites:

Family

It’s so easy for us to take our loved ones for granted. I really felt like my family and I grew closer this year, and I’m so grateful for that. Seeing Izabella grow has been quite an adventure for all of us and has certainly made life a little more worthwhile.

Love

I can go on forever about this very special person, but I’m simply glad that he’s been by my side through the good and the bad. I couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend.

Friends

I stuck by the few friends that I have and was lucky enough to make new ones. I’m so thankful to have them in my life. They’re very dear to my heart, and I would do anything for them.

Since 2007? Er, something like that. The point is she's my best friend and she always will be.

My soul sister. She's definitely more than a best friend. Words can't describe how much she means to me.

Nicholita! I met her at just the right time, and we've helped each other through a lot. It was meant to be!

Italy

What’s life without a little adventure? Italy was definitely the highlight of my year. I’m so lucky to have been given this birthday gift. This trip opened my eyes and helped me realize how much more of the world I’ve yet to see.

2012 was great to me, but I know 2013 will be so much better. I pray God helps you reach all of your goals. Have a Happy New Year, friends!

My Trip to Italy

13 Sep

Now that my senior year in college is in full swing, I didn’t want to miss out on the chance to talk to you all about my amazing summer vacation. Some of you might have already seen the pictures on my Instagram (PriscillaMrtnz), Twitter or Tumblr but I wanted to give you all a deeper look into my time in the beautiful Italia. I went on this trip with my parents as part of my twentieth birthday celebration (though my birthday is in October). I’m so blessed to have such loving parents! They’re the ones who made it all possible.

This was my second time in Europe. I had the chance to visit France, England and Spain when I turned 15, but I enjoyed this trip a whole lot more. I think you appreciate things a lot more when you’re older.

We began our journey in Rome

Here I am taking a stroll down the beautiful city. I love how narrow the streets are, and the architecture is timeless.

My first Italian meal: grilled chicken, pasta and veggies, and squash all lightly glazed in olive oil.

This is probably my favorite picture from the entire trip! Props to my dad. Visiting the Colosseum meant a lot to my parents and I. So many martyrs shed their blood here.

My mom and I outside of the St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican (please excuse my overly exposed legs).

We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the breathtaking Sistine Chapel, but I snuck in a picture (or ten).

Florence

Florence is beautiful! I love the architecture as well. The shopping wasn’t too bad either. They sell so many leather goods.

At the Boboli Gardens located behind the Pitti Palace.

Pisa

I’d been wanting a picture with the Leaning Tower of Pisa for so long! My wish came true 🙂

I love this picture of my mom and dad!

Venice

So beautiful! The small boats in the photo are taxis!

This was taken after I cut my hair at BH Salon. The service was so great!

We didn’t get to ride a gondola. It was way too hot!

I had an amazing time in Italy. There was so much to see! The people were so friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to visit Europe again 🙂

Have any of you been to Italy or anywhere else in Europe? What was your experience like? Please share in the comments below!

Have a great day, everyone!
