Birthday Glee

It’s happening. I’m entering adulthood, and I couldn’t be more excited for what God has planned for me.

My birthday (October 20, 2012) falls on the Sabbath this year. What a blessing! I don’t believe in coincidence, and I strongly feel this happened for a reason.

Like most people, I’m usually pretty selfish on my birthday and expect the world to pour out congratulations and gifts at my feet. This year, however, I just want to give thanks.

First and foremost, I thank God for giving me another year of life. For allowing me to wake up every morning with a healthy body and a loving family. I feel guilty sometimes because I know I don’t deserve half of His blessings, but after all, He is love. That’s His thing. I thank Him for loving me and making me new.

My family. What a beautiful sentence. What a privilege to call them my own. They make up who I am. They are a gift from God and nothing on Earth matters more to me than they do.

My best friends. Friends are family we choose for ourselves. I’ve chosen wisely. They complete the little empty spaces in my heart and have each taught me valuable lessons in life.

I plan on making this year better than the last. Becoming a woman of God and living my life as an example for others is what I hope to accomplish. I ask you all to keep me in your prayers, and thank you for being a part of my life 🙂

From birth I have relied on You; You brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise You. –Psalm 71:6
